Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years business tax preparation experience
- 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience preferred
- Must have active CPA, EA, or Practicing Attorney credential
- Must possess an active PTIN
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Proficient with technology
- Strong communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Ability to work independently
- Minimum 20 hours per week across 3+ days
- Internet connection meeting company security criteria
- Must reside in the United States
- Ability to obtain related state licenses if required
Job Qualifications
- 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns for at least 20 clients per season
- Minimum 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience with at least 30 returns per season
- Strong knowledge of federal and state business tax laws and regulations
- Active, unrestricted credential as CPA, EA, or Practicing Attorney
- Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Proficient with technology and tax software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with ability to interact via video and audio
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible and safe manner
- Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax answers in everyday language
- Interact with customers using video communication software
- Provide tax advice, full-service business return preparation, and signature
- Handle product/software inquiries and tax calculations
- Assist customers with filing tax extensions
- Create high-quality customer interactions using empathy and tax expertise
- Apply company policies to troubleshoot and resolve tax advice and return preparation issues
- Document customer interactions
- Work toward meeting key performance metrics and company goals
- Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed
