Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of recent business tax preparation experience
- Prepare federal and state business tax returns for partnerships or S corporations using commercial software
- Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation with at least 30 returns per season preferred
- Available to work at least 20 hours per week across three or more days
- Bookkeeping experience related to books to tax preparation preferred
- Experience with business tax returns for service industry clients preferred
- Possess or be able to obtain necessary state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- Must have an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Proficient with computers and software
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Must have or be willing to obtain secure internet connection meeting company policies
- Must reside in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Active credential such as CPA, EA or practicing attorney
- Proven strong business tax preparation experience with federal and state returns
- Minimum of 3 years preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients per season
- Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Circular 230
- Proficient with technology and commercial tax preparation software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with ability to interact professionally via video and audio tools
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner
- Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to seek out and deliver the right answer to the customer using everyday language
- Use state-of-the-art video communications software to interact with customers in a virtual, customer-facing role
- Provide tax advice, full service business return preparation and signature
- Manage product/software inquiries and tax calculations
- File tax extensions as needed
- Create high quality customer interactions and experiences that instill confidence using deep customer empathy and extensive knowledge of business tax preparation
- Apply defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and tax return preparation
- Document customer interactions
- Work continuously toward meeting company key performance metrics and Big Bet Goals
- Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed
