Job Requirements
- 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients per season using commercial tax preparation software
- Minimum of 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience with at least 30 tax returns per tax year preferred
- Available to work minimum 20 hours per week spread across three or more days
- Must possess or be able to obtain related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- Must have an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Must have or be willing to obtain internet connection meeting Intuit security criteria
- Must reside in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Active unrestricted credential (CPA, EA, or practicing attorney)
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations for business and personal tax returns
- Significant experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for multiple clients
- Minimum of 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience strongly preferred
- Bookkeeping experience with books to tax accounting entries preferred
- Proficient with technology and software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally via video and audio tools
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner
- Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to seek out and deliver the right answer to the customer using everyday language
- Interact with customers using state-of-the-art video communications software (Smartlook) in a virtual, customer-facing role
- Provide tax advice, full service return preparation, tax calculations, and manage product/software inquiries for TurboTax Business customers
- Create high quality customer interactions and experiences that instill confidence using deep customer empathy and expertise in business tax preparation
- Apply defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and tax return preparation
- Document customer interactions and continuously work toward meeting company key performance metrics and goals
