Job Requirements
- Three or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns
- Preparation of at least 20 clients per season using commercial tax software
- Minimum of 20 hours of work per week across three or more days
- Possess or obtain state licenses, certificates, permits or bonds
- Must have an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- United States residency
- Internet connection meeting company security criteria
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Strong business tax preparation experience
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws
- Experience preparing federal and state business tax returns using commercial tax software
- Minimum of two seasons of personal tax preparation experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficient with technology and computer software
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve tax return issues
- Active credential such as CPA, EA, or Practicing Attorney
Job Duties
- Manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations
- Provide expert tax advice and full service business return preparation
- Interact with customers using video communications software
- Utilize government resources and team expertise to resolve tax inquiries
- Prepare and file tax extensions
- Document customer interactions accurately
- Participate in pilot testing and projects
