Job Requirements

  • Three or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns for at least 20 clients per season
  • Minimum two seasons of personal tax preparation experience preferred
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week spread across three or more days
  • Must possess or be able to obtain any related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
  • Must possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
  • Working knowledge of Circular 230
  • Strong bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation preferred
  • Must have proficient computer skills
  • Must have strong customer service skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an internet connection that meets security criteria
  • Must reside in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted CPA, EA, or Practicing Attorney credential
  • Minimum three years of recent federal and state business tax return preparation experience
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws for business and personal returns
  • Experience using commercial tax preparation software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with technology and computer software
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact confidently over video and audio tools
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner
  • Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax advice in everyday language
  • Interact with customers virtually using video communication software to provide expert guidance on tax preparation
  • Prepare and review complex business tax returns including Partnerships (1065) and S Corporations (1120-S)
  • Provide full service tax return preparation, tax calculations, and file tax extensions
  • Document customer interactions accurately and apply company policies to resolve tax-related inquiries
  • Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations to improve products and services
