Job Requirements
- minimum of 3 years of business tax preparation experience
- active, unrestricted CPA, EA, or practicing attorney credential
- must be available to work at least 20 hours per week across three or more days
- possession or ability to obtain related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- possession of active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws
- proficient with technology and computer software
- excellent communication and customer service skills
- ability to work in a virtual environment using video and audio communication tools
- must reside in the United States
- must have or be willing to obtain internet connection meeting security criteria
Job Qualifications
- minimum of 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients per season using commercial tax preparation software
- strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations for business and personal returns
- active credential such as CPA, EA, or practicing attorney
- minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience preferred
- bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation strongly preferred
- experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers preferred
- possession of active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- working knowledge of Circular 230
- proficient with technology and computer software
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong customer service skills with ability to interact professionally through video and audio tools
- critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills
- ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner
- utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to seek out and deliver the right answer to the customer using everyday language
- interact with customers using state of the art video communications software
- provide tax advice, full service business return preparation and signature
- respond to product/software inquiries
- perform tax calculations
- file tax extensions
- create high quality customer interactions and experiences that instill confidence
- apply defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and tax return preparation
- document customer interactions
- work continuously toward meeting company key performance metrics and goals
- participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed
