Job Requirements
- 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns for compensation
- minimum of 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience preferred
- availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week over three or more days
- possession or ability to obtain related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- working knowledge of Circular 230
- proficiency with technology and computer software
- strong customer service skills
- excellent communication skills
- critical thinking and problem solving abilities
- ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- internet connection meeting Intuit security criteria
- residency in the United States
Job Qualifications
- strong business tax preparation experience with at least 3 years preparing federal and state business tax returns for 20 or more clients per season using commercial tax software
- minimum of 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience with at least 30 tax returns per year preferred
- bookkeeping experience relating to books to tax preparation strongly preferred
- experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers preferred
- must possess or be able to obtain related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- must possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- working knowledge of Circular 230
- proficient with technology including computer operations and software
- strong customer service skills with ability to interact professionally via video and audio
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- critical thinking, problem solving, and research skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner
- utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to deliver the right answer to customers using everyday language
- interact with customers using state-of-the-art video communication software
- provide tax advice, full service business return preparation and signature
- manage product and software inquiries
- perform tax calculations
- file tax extensions
- create high quality customer interactions using deep customer empathy and extensive business tax knowledge
- apply defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and return preparation
- document customer interactions
- work toward meeting company key performance metrics and Big Bet Goals
- participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed
