Job Requirements
- 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns
- Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience preferred
- Must be available to work 20 hours per week across three or more days
- Must possess or be able to obtain related state licenses, certificates or permits
- Must have an active PTIN
- Must be proficient with technology and computer software
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must have or be willing to obtain an internet connection that meets company security criteria
- Must reside in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Strong business tax preparation experience for partnerships and S corporations
- Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
- Minimum two seasons of personal tax preparation experience preferred
- Experience with commercial tax preparation software
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and books to tax accounting entries preferred
- Requires active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with technology
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Job Duties
- Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and proprietary business information responsibly
- Utilize government websites, professional resources and team expertise to deliver accurate answers using everyday language
- Interact with customers using video communication software in a virtual setting
- Provide tax advice, full-service business return preparation and signature
- Handle product and software inquiries
- Perform tax calculations and file tax extensions
- Document customer interactions and adhere to company policies
