Job Requirements
- Must have an active, unrestricted credential such as CPA, EA, or Practicing Attorney
- Must have an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
- Minimum 3 years experience preparing federal and state business tax returns for compensation
- Minimum 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience preferred
- Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week over three or more days
- Must reside in the United States
- Must possess or be able to obtain any related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds
- Must have or be willing to obtain an internet connection that meets company security criteria
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proficient in using technology and commercial tax preparation software
- Knowledge of Circular 230
Job Qualifications
- Strong business tax preparation experience with 3 or more years preparing federal and state business tax returns
- Experience with commercial tax preparation software
- Minimum of 2 seasons personal tax preparation experience preferred
- Ability to manage at least 20 clients per tax season
- Bookkeeping experience with books to tax accounting entries preferred
- Knowledge of business tax laws and regulations for Partnerships and S Corporations
- Ability to communicate tax concepts clearly to customers
- Strong customer service skills through virtual interactions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Circular 230
- Proficient with technology and software
- Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
Job Duties
- Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information in a responsible, reliable, and safe manner
- Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax advice using everyday language
- Interact with customers using state-of-the-art video communication software in a virtual environment
- Provide full service business tax return preparation and signature
- Handle product and software inquiries
- Perform tax calculations and assist with filing tax extensions
- Create high quality customer interactions that instill confidence and apply defined practices to troubleshoot and resolve tax return issues
- Document customer interactions and work towards meeting company key performance metrics
- Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed
