Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales or marketing
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in hospitality or related major
  • 1 year experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales or marketing
  • Ability to lead a team to meet goals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with event software
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • Capability to manage budgets and expenses
  • Ability to interact with vendors
  • Willingness to work full time on-site

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning and execution of meetings and special events
  • Assist in implementing departmental strategies
  • Promote and assist in execution of all property events
  • Lead team to meet and exceed daily/weekly goals including sales, attendance, guest satisfaction, safety
  • Research and analyze new products, pricing and services of competition
  • Assist in apprising property of all groups impacting operations
  • Assist in execution of event management strategy aligned with company business strategy
  • Conduct daily walk-through of banquet floors for client satisfaction and quality standards
  • Learn, operate and train employees on event software systems including ticketing, retail, inventory, space usage
  • Assist in developing relationships with vendors and establishing prices and service agreements
  • Create opportunities to upsell during event planning
  • Assist in managing controllable expenses to meet budget goals
  • Manage merchandise inventory and enhance merchandise displays
  • Create atmosphere exceeding guest expectations
  • Set positive example for guest relations
  • Interact with guests and handle feedback
  • Respond to guest problems and complaints
  • Empower employees to provide excellent service
  • Verify employee understanding of expectations and parameters
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Emphasize guest satisfaction during meetings
  • Interview, select and train employees
  • Appraise employee productivity for promotions
  • Provide safety and security for employees and property
  • Monitor attendance and record absences/tardiness
  • Support supervisors in development goals
