Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
  • Hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
  • Exposure to temperatures around 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to handle knives and cutting equipment safely
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks
  • No prior retail experience required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to proactively sell and engage with customers
  • Basic knowledge or willingness to learn about seafood products and food safety
  • Ability to examine products visually for quality and freshness
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately
  • Passion for natural foods and company mission
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to maintaining quality goals and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Ensures a fresh and appealing seafood display by checking quality, stocking, rotating, and cleaning cases and shelves
  • Maintains accurate department signage and pricing
  • Keeps back stock organized and in good condition
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized work and shopping environment
  • Assists with seafood sampling programs
  • Cleans equipment, cases, coolers, floors, and drains as required
  • Prepares seafood by skinning, boning, cooking, and smoking fish, labeling and dating products
  • Assists with periodic inventory checks
  • Provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling techniques
  • Follows health, sanitation, and safety regulations including Food Safety requirements
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and reports safety hazards
  • Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
