Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum of 6 months to 1 year fiberglass lamination instruction experience required, 3 years preferred
  • ability to read and understand blueprints
  • ability to read and understand production schedule
  • basic computer skills
  • good verbal communication skills
  • ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, powered and manual
  • ability to work in a hot and dusty environment using protective clothing and respirator if needed
  • ability to pass a respirator fit test

Job Qualifications

  • ability to audit departmental work areas
  • ability to maintain and adjust resin guns and pumps
  • ability to multi-task
  • ability to read and understand job descriptions
  • ability to read and understand blueprints
  • ability to read and understand production schedule
  • working knowledge of procedures, instructions, and documents related to the quality system
  • knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal
  • ability to transport hazardous waste with applicable training
  • basic computer skills
  • good verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • run chopper gun to lay down resin and fiberglass used in construction of hull, deck and small parts
  • maintain constant laminate thickness as per engineering specs
  • control labor and parts flow in designated area
  • direct team of other laminators
  • work scheduled typically 4 days per week at 10 hours per day with adjustments as required
  • perform weekend work as scheduled according to workload and repair needs
