Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with medical terminology and anatomy preferred
  • Ability to work 2-3 shifts per week including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand and walk throughout shifts
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • Successful completion of scribe application test
  • Commitment to a continuous one-year work period
  • Ability to work under pressure in stressful environments

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or post-baccalaureate student pursuing a healthcare-related career
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to type quickly and accurately
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Responsible and mature demeanor
  • Commitment to a one-year term at the assigned clinical site

Job Duties

  • Support physicians and healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters accurately
  • Work one-on-one with physicians in clinical settings such as Emergency Department and medical-surgical units
  • Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to assist in accurate record-keeping
  • Maintain quick and accurate typing speed while capturing detailed clinical information
  • Adapt to fast-paced and stressful environments while maintaining professionalism
  • Follow physicians during shifts which may involve standing and walking for extended periods
  • Complete required documentation and testing to meet position and program standards
