Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds
- Capability to perform repetitive motions and coordinate eye, hand, and foot movements
- Ability to work overnight graveyard shift
- Willingness to comply with all safety and sanitation policies
- Ability to respond to customer inquiries
- Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bakery experience preferred
- Knowledge of bakery terms and processes
- Ability to follow recipes and standard procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
Job Duties
- Perform bakery functions such as mixing, scaling, proofing, baking, frying, and finishing on bakery items as directed according to standard formulas and procedures
- Be knowledgeable of basic bakery terms and processes such as fermentation, bench time, proofing, and effects of temperature variations on bakery items
- Assist in ordering bakery ingredients and supplies and maintain inventory levels in accordance with department and store policy
- Fill, rotate, arrange, and merchandise displays and display cases
- Price, date, wrap, or bag bakery products in accordance with Bakery Merchant
- Be proactive on self-development to assume additional duties and responsibilities
- Comply with all company safety and accident prevention policies and report all accidents to the Bakery Merchant
- Clean and sanitize areas of bakery and equipment as directed by Bakery Merchant
- Maintain all department equipment in good working order and recommend repair of equipment when necessary
