Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid food handlers' card obtained within 30 days of hire or per regulations
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Fluent in English
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work setting
- Must be at least 16 years old
Job Qualifications
- Valid food handlers' card (required within 30 days of employment or per state/local requirements)
- Experience in food service, fast-casual dining, or hospitality preferred
- Ability to learn about and discuss classic and seasonal flavors comfortably
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on hospitality

Job Duties
- Attentively interact with guests throughout their visit with patience, positivity, and effervescence
- Maintain a strong understanding of Salt & Straw's brand, including its unique production techniques, partnerships, and flavor profiles
- Scoop the perfect portion for guests in line with shop standards
- Accurately process transactions using the POS system, handle cash, and ensure correct change
- Prepare, label, and store waffle batter
- operate the waffle iron to make cones
- label and store cones, maintaining a clean waffle station
- Adhere to shop, food quality, and safety standards including dishwashing, cleaning floors, walls, bathrooms, and freezers
- Replenish retail products, restock freezers, paper goods, waffle batter, cones, and other supplies
- Consolidate ice cream tubs and replenish stock from the walk-in freezer
- temper tubs correctly
- Accurately pack third-party delivery orders following company standards
- Promptly answer phones and provide excellent service
- Greet guests, facilitate line flow, answer questions, and promote online ordering and pint purchases
- Taste/sample daily to better communicate flavor options to customers
