Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid food handlers' card or ability to obtain within 30 days
- prior experience in food service or related hospitality field preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to engage positively with customers
- able to handle cash and use POS
- capable of physical tasks including standing for long periods
- availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- fluency in English
- ability to work as part of a team
- willingness to learn about all flavors and products
- capacity to work in environments with common food allergens
Job Qualifications
- Valid food handlers' card required within 30 days of employment or as per local requirement
- experience in food service, fast-casual dining, or hospitality preferred
- ability to learn and discuss classic and seasonal flavors

- ability to work at least 3 shifts per week including 2 closing shifts
Job Duties
- Attentively interact with guests throughout their visit with patience, positivity, and effervescence
- maintain a strong understanding of Salt & Straw's brand and unique flavor profiles
- scoop the perfect portion for guests according to shop standards
- accurately process transactions using the POS system and handle cash
- prepare, label, and store waffle batter and cones while keeping the waffle station clean
- adhere to shop, food quality, and safety standards including cleaning and organization
- replenish retail products, restock freezers, and supplies
- consolidate and temper ice cream tubs correctly
- accurately pack third-party delivery orders
- promptly answer phones and respond to inquiries
- greet guests and facilitate the flow of the line
- taste and sample different ice cream flavors daily to better communicate with customers
