Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in recording live music and post-production
  • Proficiency with Avid Pro Tools and Adobe Premiere software
  • Ability to lift and set up equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to access elevated spaces such as ladders and catwalks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Ability to troubleshoot audio and video hardware and software issues
  • Ability to supervise student assistants
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to ADA accommodations if needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ year of professional experience in recording live music and post-production
  • Proficiency with Avid Pro Tools for audio editing and post-production
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere for video editing and post-production
  • Familiarity with audio and video recording equipment and live streaming
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to supervise and instruct student assistants effectively
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience recording a variety of music styles, including classical and jazz

Job Duties

  • Record, edit, and produce high-quality audio and video content for School of Music performances and events
  • Oversee post-production processes, including mixing, mastering, editing, and rendering using Avid Pro Tools and Adobe Premiere
  • Manage live recording and streaming of performances in coordination with faculty and staff
  • Supervise, train, and schedule student assistants involved in recording and production activities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and update audio and video equipment in collaboration with CFAD technology staff
  • Support faculty and students in recording and production projects as needed
  • Organize and archive recordings for internal use and public distribution through university platforms
  • Safely set up and lift audio, video, and related production equipment up to 25 pounds and connect and route cables in both tight and high spaces
  • Access elevated spaces such as ladders, catwalks, and platforms to perform tasks at height
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
