Job Requirements
- Valid Food Handler's Permit
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Willingness to learn and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures
- Reliable transportation
- Current and active phone number
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and adults
- Availability to work at any location on an on-call basis
Job Qualifications
- Possess a valid Food Handler's Permit
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to compute and apply basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to follow instructions and use fundamentals of meal preparation following approved safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to speak and write effectively and communicate with students, staff and public in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Willing to learn and follow procedures, policies and requirements of the Culinary Services program
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relations with others
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of attractive, high quality, nutritious, cost effective meals following standardized procedures
- Complete tasks within time allocated
- Comply with approved safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist in the cleaning of kitchen, equipment, tables, and storeroom as scheduled by Manager or her/his designee
- Report equipment malfunctions to Manager to insure safe working conditions
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and operating the dish machine
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relations with others
- May relieve or assist other unit employees as necessary to maintain the operation of the kitchen unit or as assigned by the Manager and her/his designee
- Perform related duties as assigned
