Job Requirements
- Valid Washington Food Handler's Permit
- knowledge of food preparation and safety
- ability to follow instructions and adhere to sanitation protocols
- ability to use kitchen equipment
- ability to perform simple math calculations
- ability to train and supervise staff
- communication skills for interacting with staff, students, and parents
- ability to maintain records manually or digitally
- ability to adapt to shift work and task interruptions
- physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform standing and walking for prolonged periods
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Heat prepacked meals to appropriate temperature
- keep cold packs at appropriate temperature until served
- ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation procedures by staff and student helpers
- develop and post work schedules and serving area diagrams
- maintain accurate records including meal counts, cash counts, tickets, menu planners, orders, delivery, payroll, and inventory
- schedule and maintain cleaning of kitchen, storeroom, and equipment
- report equipment malfunctions
- order and adjust meal counts from the central kitchen
- maintain and rotate food stock
- establish cooperative working relations
- assist staff in promoting proper nutrition
- respond to suggestions, complaints, and requests
- report accidents promptly
- supervise, train, and evaluate staff and student workers
- promote Child Nutrition Services programs
- secure kitchen and dining area after shifts
- perform related duties as assigned
