Job Qualifications

  • Meet minimum qualifications for Assistant and Satellite Servers
  • One year experience in commercial or institutional food preparation
  • Ability to utilize fundamentals of meal preparation
  • Skills to plan menus and adjust recipes
  • Competency to complete and maintain all records as requested
  • Ability to substitute as needed
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve attractive high quality nutritious cost effective meals following standardized procedures
  • Follow menu planners and meet District standards
  • Complete tasks within time allocated
  • Comply with approved safety and sanitation procedures
  • Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment tables and storeroom
  • Report equipment malfunctions to ensure safe working conditions
  • Assist in maintaining food and supply inventories
  • Lead or assist unit employees in meal preparation for emergencies or training
  • Maintain required daily records and submit to Kitchen Manager
  • Collect money and account for meals served
  • Maintain plate count records
  • Promote Child Nutrition Services programs to increase meal participation
  • Assist school staff in promoting proper nutrition
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relations with others
  • Perform related duties as assigned
