Job Duties
- Determine and develop plans for efficient food service operations
- manage and direct daily food service activities
- review and revise internal operating procedures
- establish and maintain quality control standards for food production and distribution
- supervise preparation of menus and recipes under USDA requirements
- modify menus to meet dietary needs
- participate in hiring of food service staff
- plan, direct, schedule, and evaluate work of subordinates
- provide orientation and training on safety, sanitation, and food service methods
- ensure USDA-mandated training hours are met
- estimate and order food and supplies
- maintain inventory and financial reports
- monitor and control budget expenditures
- approve and process invoices
- inspect facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- schedule and supervise maintenance and repair of equipment
- coordinate satellite food service operations
- attend and participate in staff meetings and workshops
- maintain required certifications and training records
