Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- No experience required, on-the-job training provided
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including moving furniture and handling cleaning equipment
- Willingness to work flexible hours including potential shifts during evenings or weekends
- Capable of maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience preferred
- One year of prior similar work experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is advantageous but not required
Job Duties
- Clean and maintain assigned areas including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways
- Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas
- Regularly check and empty trash receptacles in all assigned locations
- Follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
- Notify lead cleaner or manager about minor or major repair needs or building system issues
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors
- Collect, consolidate, and properly separate recycling into designated receptacles
- Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls
- Polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel
- Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment manually or with hand trucks
- Clean interior glass, windows, partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning materials
- Perform seasonal tasks such as sweeping walks, raking leaves, cutting grass, and snow removal
- Maintain the cleanliness and polish of restrooms
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by ABM and regulatory authorities
