Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1 year high volume/high production food service experience
- Serve Safe certification preferred
- Ability to work full time day shift Monday to Friday 5:30 am to 2:00 pm
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete documentation
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and training sessions
- Ability to work collaboratively with team and other departments
- Must comply with institutional policies and safety practices
Job Qualifications

- Ability to follow USDA and Colorado Department of Education guidelines
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn USDA school cycle menu software

Job Duties
- Review menu and plan for food preparation including timely defrosting of meat
- Organize cooking schedule to complete tasks on time
- Prepare and serve exact portion controlled servings for K-8 students according to recipes
- Occasionally prepare bagged lunches for field trips
- Complete required USDA continuing education hours
- Maintain daily Production Record of food prepared, served, and returned
- Uphold safe food handling procedures to avoid contamination and foodborne illnesses
- Maintain awareness of student allergies in collaboration with nursing staff
- Participate occasionally in nutrition education projects
- Learn and utilize USDA school cycle menu software
- Attend required off-campus training sessions
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and storage
- Cover, label, date and properly store leftover food
- Restock supplies as needed
