Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in baking or food preparation preferred
- ability to work a full-time 40-hour workweek
- basic math skills for recipe adjustments
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to lift moderate weight
- good communication skills

- ability to follow standardized recipes and procedures
Job Qualifications
- experience coordinating food preparation and baking in a school or institutional setting preferred
- basic understanding of inventory and record-keeping procedures

Job Duties
- Coordinate and work closely with other food service employees to ensure timely preparation of baked goods
- review daily production records and determine appropriate standardized recipes
- secure necessary ingredients and equipment for preparation and baking
- accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to approved recipes
- adjust recipe yields based on production needs
- prepare mixes and bake bread, rolls, buns, biscuits, muffins, pizza crusts, and other baked goods
- set up serving counters for meal service and replenish food as needed
- portion and direct packing of menu items for satellite meals
- clean and maintain work areas, serving counters, and dining areas in a sanitary manner
- sanitize utensils and equipment after use
- properly label, store, or dispose of leftover foods and document accordingly
- inform School Food Services Manager of leftover items and recommend utilization
- receive and document provisions, report discrepancies
- record supplies and ingredients used
- assist in monthly inventory and maintain records
- direct and instruct cafeteria helpers and other helpers
- assist in training new food service employees
- may supervise serving operations at satellite schools
- attend staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training
- achieve annual USDA-required minimum training hours
