Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Minimum one year of experience in an appointment scheduling position
- Knowledge of medical practice protocols related to scheduling appointments
- Knowledge of manual or computerized scheduling systems
- Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
- Skill in communicating effectively with physicians or clinicians about scheduling preferences
- Skill in maintaining master appointment schedule via manual or computerized means
- Skill in producing reports about appointment patterns as needed
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients about appointments in all circumstances including when they are ill or have an emergency
- Ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Make appointments for patients following medical practice procedures
- Communicate effectively with physicians and clinicians about scheduling preferences
- Maintain master appointment schedule via manual or computerized means
- Produce reports about appointment patterns as needed
- Handle multiple tasks including phone calls, in-office patients, and staff communications
- Communicate calmly and clearly with patients about appointments including in emergency situations
- Analyze scheduling situations and respond appropriately
