- minimum one year of experience in an appointment scheduling position
- knowledge of medical practice protocols
- knowledge of manual or computerized scheduling systems
- knowledge of customer service principles
- skill in communication

- ability to communicate calmly and clearly
- ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately

Job Duties
- Make appointments for patients following medical practice procedures
- integrate tasks with receptionist, registration clerk, or medical assistant duties
- maintain the master appointment schedule using manual or computerized systems
- communicate effectively with physicians and clinicians about scheduling preferences
- produce reports about appointment patterns as needed
- multitask effectively handling phone calls, in-office patients, and staff requests
- communicate calmly and clearly with patients including in emergency situations
