Job Requirements
- high school diploma or general equivalency diploma
- minimum one year of experience in an appointment scheduling position
- knowledge of medical practice protocols related to scheduling appointments
- knowledge of manual and computerized scheduling systems
- knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
- skill in communicating effectively with physicians and clinicians about scheduling preferences
- skill in maintaining master appointment schedule via manual or computerized means
- skill in producing reports about appointment patterns
- ability to multitask effectively and deal with phone calls, patients, and staff pleasantly
- ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients including when ill or facing emergencies
- ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately
