Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general equivalency diploma
  • minimum one year of experience in an appointment scheduling position
  • knowledge of medical practice protocols related to scheduling appointments
  • knowledge of manual and computerized scheduling systems
  • knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
  • skill in communicating effectively with physicians and clinicians about scheduling preferences
  • skill in maintaining master appointment schedule via manual or computerized means
  • skill in producing reports about appointment patterns
  • ability to multitask effectively and deal with phone calls, patients, and staff pleasantly
  • ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients including when ill or facing emergencies
  • ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately
