Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Minimum one year of experience in appointment scheduling
- Knowledge of medical practice protocols related to scheduling appointments
- Knowledge of manual and computerized scheduling systems
- Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients in all circumstances including emergencies
- Ability to analyze situations and respond appropriately

Job Duties
- Make appointments for patients following medical practice procedures
- Communicate effectively with physicians and clinicians about scheduling preferences
- Maintain the master appointment schedule using manual or computerized systems
- Produce reports on appointment patterns as needed
- Handle multiple tasks including phone calls, in-office patients, and coordination with staff
- Communicate calmly and clearly with patients about their appointments even during emergencies
- Analyze scheduling situations and respond appropriately
