Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a cooking role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale restaurant
- Strong knowledge of sauteing techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evenings, and weekends
- Food safety certification preferred
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a sautee cook, line cook, or in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred
- Strong knowledge of sauteing techniques, sauces, and ingredient preparation
- Excellent understanding of culinary techniques and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook proteins, vegetables, sauces, and other menu items using the sauteing technique
- Ensure each dish is cooked to the correct level of doneness and presented beautifully, adhering to the restaurant's standards
- Follow recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency in every dish
- Assist in creating and maintaining the restaurant's menu and seasonal specials
- Work closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Communicate effectively with waitstaff regarding dish timing, special requests, and order status
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the saute station
- Follow food safety regulations and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
- Taste and season dishes to ensure the highest quality
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to maintain consistent results
