Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a restaurant kitchen focusing on sauté preparation
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
  • Capacity to follow detailed recipes and instructions
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Basic knife skills and kitchen tool proficiency
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items as required
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with kitchen team.

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification
  • Experience working in a sauté station or similar culinary role in a restaurant
  • Knowledge of meat, poultry, and seafood preparation and cooking techniques
  • Ability to follow recipes, cooking procedures, and quality standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a kitchen preferred
  • Familiarity with inventory management and kitchen equipment operation
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to maintaining high food presentation and service quality standards.

Job Duties

  • Report to work on time and be present at the sauté station as per the weekly schedule
  • Maintain uniform cleanliness and positive hygiene habits during shifts
  • Set up the sauté station with all necessary equipment, plateware, ingredients, and supplies following the station checklist
  • Assist Chef or Sous Chef with cutting meats and seafood following PML specifications and quality standards
  • Communicate regularly with the Chef to report kitchen issues including equipment function, sanitation, food supply, and quality
  • Assist side cooks and other kitchen personnel with food preparation as assigned
  • Supervise kitchen line operation during service ensuring quality, flow, timing, and presentation of food
  • Maintain organized, clean, and efficient operation of broil station and kitchen line with minimal noise
  • Anticipate station overload and take corrective action to prevent food or service discrepancies
  • Restock hot/cold plates and maintain correct temperatures throughout the shift
  • Monitor par and stock levels for meats, poultry, seafood, and other supplies, reporting discrepancies to the Chef
  • Select appropriate cuts of meat matching desired cooking temperatures
  • Season, cook, and plate all entrées (meat, poultry, seafood) to PML standards and serve directly from sauté to member without holding food on the line.
