Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in sanitation or maintenance roles preferred
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting and walking
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • good communication skills
  • availability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • experience cleaning in the food manufacturing industry
  • knowledge and experience performing basic maintenance
  • knowledge of state and federal safety codes
  • able to work well without direct supervision
  • able to operate all necessary equipment and perform all physical requirements of the job
  • safe and tidy work habits
  • able to communicate effectively
  • able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as required

Job Duties

  • perform duties on the daily and weekly sanitation and maintenance lists and adhere to cleaning and maintenance schedules
  • follow all GMP guidelines and complete all documentation for HACCP, FSMA, and daily operational sheets as required by the food safety plan
  • accept and process product from the store receiver
  • follow established hazardous material safety procedures
  • keep floor clear of any dry or liquid debris
  • empty trash containers and replace liners
  • keep and maintain accurate sweep logs
  • use appropriate protective equipment
  • maintain back stock areas and coolers
  • dust fixtures, shelves and product
  • clean windows and mirrored surfaces
  • support all teams with cleaning projects
  • keep department supplies filled and maintained
  • keep all supply shelves clean and stocked
  • practice safe use of tools and equipment required by position
  • practice proper care and maintenance of equipment
  • know and practice proper lifting techniques
  • report safety violations and hazards immediately
  • participate in ordering supplies needed for store maintenance
  • help with any cleaning emergencies that occur in the facility
  • comply with all state and federal health and safety codes
