Job Requirements
- five years of sanitation management experience
- bachelor's degree in food science, biology, microbiology, chemistry, environmental health, industrial hygiene or related field preferred or high school/associate's degree plus 10 years sanitation management experience
- ability to work onsite M-F 8am-5pm
- strong leadership and people management skills
- knowledge of food safety laws and quality standards
- experience with Lean Six Sigma
- budget management skills
- excellent communication skills
- ability to handle crisis situations
- comfort with conducting audits and presenting compliance results
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in food science, biology, microbiology, chemistry, environmental health, industrial hygiene or related field preferred
- high school or associate's degree with 10 years of sanitation management experience in food manufacturing in lieu of degree
- at least five years of sanitation management experience
- leadership experience managing large teams
- strong knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety regulations
- experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
- ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- experience in conducting audits and compliance reporting
- skilled in training and development of team members
Job Duties
- develop and maintain the master sanitation schedule
- develop and maintain cleaning procedures (SSOPs) and validate them for effectiveness, safety, and regulatory compliance
- drive the team to build their capabilities through effective and efficient training and education
- promote people safety through training, coaching, recognition and if necessary, disciplinary action
- manage the department's chemical program
- manage the department's pest control program
- engage the facility's leadership in behavior performance that prevents contamination
- manage solid and liquid waste removal in coordination with other departments
- plan and coordinate contractor activities related to food safety
- identify and report hygienic design gaps in equipment and infrastructure
- manage employee relations adhering to the collective bargaining agreement
- participate and lead Lean-Six Sigma initiatives
- manage change management processes
- lead GMP and food safety internal audits
- prepare and present KPI reports
- attend line and departmental meetings prepared with required data
- perform and lead Gemba walks as required by Lean Six Sigma program
