Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science microbiology environmental health or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in sanitation or food safety in food manufacturing
  • Knowledge of food safety regulatory requirements including FSMA and cGMPs
  • Ability to perform sanitation audits and write validation protocols
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Willingness to travel to multiple manufacturing sites as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science microbiology environmental health or related field
  • Proven experience in food manufacturing sanitation or quality assurance roles
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations including FSMA cGMPs and other relevant guidelines
  • Experience with sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) and master sanitation schedules (MSS)
  • Ability to lead sanitation audits and validation protocols
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including operations and engineering

Job Duties

  • Provide advanced technical support and guidance to manufacturing and/or other sites related to wet and dry cleaning sanitization integrated pest management zoning and environmental monitoring
  • Participate in development of corporate level standards and facility systems including Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and other systems
  • Write validation protocols and lead validations of SSOPs for operations processing filling and closing equipment and environment
  • Assist in development of site level partnership objectives with third-party service suppliers and operations to drive continuous improvement in sanitation programs and KPIs
  • Review sanitation programs across business units and deliver prioritized sanitation improvement plans for each site providing technical and organizational direction for site level gap closure
  • Provide direction education and facility-specific technical support to ensure effective deployment and implementation of sanitation standards food safety policies and procedures ensuring sanitation leaders and subordinates comply with food regulations company programs and customer requirements
  • Conduct periodic sanitation audits or assessments to identify gaps to the DFA comprehensive practice standard and provide technical guidance to close audit-related gaps with reporting to leadership on manufacturing location status
  • Work closely with operations and engineering to identify capital expense needs to mitigate food safety risks from infrastructure and sanitation equipment concerns
  • Provide site leadership for resolution of special plant sanitation issues and adverse events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
