Job Requirements

  • High school diploma in applied science field or engineering or other related field
  • 4 years experience in cleaning/sanitation for a beverage or bottled water manufacturer
  • 4 years experience in a sanitation lead or similar position
  • 4 years experience managing people or projects
  • ability to work 12 hour shifts on rotating schedule
  • regular and predictable attendance
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • 4 years experience in cleaning/sanitation for a beverage or bottled water manufacturer
  • 4 years experience in a sanitation lead or similar position
  • 4 years experience managing people or projects
  • preferred 6 years experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment
  • preferred 6 years experience working in a sanitation lead position
  • preferred 6 years experience managing people or projects
  • demonstrated experience working with automated CIP systems
  • experience in quality management systems
  • experience in sanitation audits including equipment specifications and sanitary process design
  • ability to make independent judgments on sanitation procedures, forms, policies and standards
  • capable of working with minimal supervision
  • effective at interaction with all levels of plant
  • strong verbal, writing and presentation skills
  • analytical and problem solving skills
  • ability to work well in collaborative group environments
  • strong attention to detail and organization
  • intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook

Job Duties

  • Responsible for daily activities for the cleaning and sanitation of the production line(s), ensuring product adheres to Niagara's standard of safety, quality, and throughput
  • Assists Production Supervisor with daily activities of assigned shift, ensuring sanitation and product adheres to Niagara's standard of safety, quality, and throughput
  • Communicates with previous shift regarding any challenges and opportunities on the production lines that could affect sanitation activities
  • Conducts walkthroughs throughout the shift to verify safety, housekeeping, sanitation and quality compliance
  • Supports QA Manager with hourly and/or end of shift sanitation reports
  • Implements, performs and maintains cleaning and sanitation procedures, policies and records for production facility
  • Assists in problem solving sanitation, food safety and quality issues and provides direction with product or process microbiological issues
  • Evaluates chemical suppliers for the plant and establishes appropriate concentration/usage for sanitation/cleaning chemicals
  • Supports the Sanitation Training Program for CIP, COP, and external cleaning/sanitation including chemical safety and sanitary maintenance oversight
  • Provides environmental oversight to sanitation processes and informs QA Manager of potential wastewater/discharge issues
  • Maximizes use of document control and data software for sanitation/cleaning documentation and record keeping
  • Adheres to company and plant safety programs, rules and regulations and GMP and Food Safety Standards
  • Works 12-hour shifts on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule or as dictated by production demand
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance
