Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in sanitation and food safety with strong operational experience of GMP, sanitation, and environmental monitoring
- HACCP, food defense, PCQI credentials required
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in food science, quality systems or equivalent experience or qualifications preferred
- Prior experience in large baking facilities or similar food manufacturing preferred
- Intermediate computer software skills required
- Ability to collaborate with multiple functions and managers
- Demonstrated critical thinking, people and team development skills, strategic aptitude, and independent leadership
- Ability to organize work, prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow up independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Plans, develops, and directs the food safety program supporting company quality objectives, regulatory compliance, and budget management
- Makes recommendations to Bakery Operations Manager when adjustments to production methods or programs are required to elevate food safety consistent with company policies and procedures
- Develops and continually reviews food safety and sanitation procedures, standards, and policies to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws and codes governing food safety and labor relations
- Serves as the primary representative and subject matter expert in all federal, state, local and private regulatory inspections
- Provides oversight and follow-up to maintain accurate documentation and records related to sanitation activities including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, training records, and regulatory compliance documentation
- Responsible for oversight of specific building maintenance assigned to sanitation including pest control procedures within budget guidelines
- Responsible for hiring, training, and providing direction for the sanitation and receiving teams, ensuring effective coordination of routine and unforeseen tasks
- Schedule and manage all employees in compliance with company policy and local, state, federal laws in a non-union team
- Consults with management team to ensure routines and controls keep the organization operating safely and effectively
- Support and contribute to maintaining a safe environment by working in a safe manner, promoting accident prevention, and resolving potential hazards timely
- Address safety concerns while employees perform job tasks and provide initial job training for safe work methods and GMPs
- Organizes, conducts or assists all required food safety training for the bakery
- Ability to determine and identify root cause analysis and corrective action preventative action plans
