Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections
- Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Assists in technical areas as needed
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates and maintains equipment properly
- Complies with food safety and sanitation standards
- Complies with department and store operating procedures
- Records production and shrink
- Assists in baking, frying, and decorating
- Culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
- Takes care of service counter customers
- Uses ordering system applications
- Performs inventory management processes
- Ensures catering orders are prepared and ready in time for customer pickup
- Performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- Serves and packages products at customer request
- Educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions
- Prepackages condiments
- Cuts, slices, dices, chops food in preparation for chef
