Job Requirements
- Read, understand, and write the English language at the eighth-grade level
- Perform arithmetic calculations at the eighth-grade level
- Have sufficient visual acuity to check identification
- Read and understand instructions for operating electronic cash registers and other equipment
- Can lift up to 50 pounds
- Can stock shelves and coolers
- Can react to a fire by using a fire extinguisher
- Tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
- Can climb a ladder to clean windows
- Sweep and mop floors
- Dust shelves
- Lift and carry out trash to outside bin
- Can clean the parking lot and surrounding grounds
- Can enter and work in a walk-in refrigerator
- Minimum age of 18 years old
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand, and write English at the eighth-grade level
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations at the eighth-grade level
- Visual acuity sufficient to check identification
- Ability to read and understand electronic cash register instructions
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Ability to operate store equipment such as cash registers, lottery terminals and gasoline intercoms
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Greet customers with a smile and offer prompt service
- Greet gasoline customers on intercom if applicable
- Practice suggestive selling
- Thank customers
- Adhere to all alcohol and tobacco regulations
- Operate cash register and manage cash and credit cards
- Operate lottery/lotto terminal
- Operate gasoline intercom and console
- Maintain shift operations within all company guidelines
- Sweep and mop floors
- Clean shelving and racks
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Clean and sanitize fast food and drink equipment
- Organize and clean cooler
- Clean windows, doors, and cooler doors
- Clean gasoline islands and pumps
- Empty trash inside and outside store
- Check equipment and temperatures
- Assist store manager with store inspections
- Stock items on shelves and racks
- Change syrup boxes for fountain drinks
- Keep fast food area stocked
- Rotate stock and remove out-of-date items
- Follow shift check-in and check-out procedures
- Prevent shoplifting
- Practice good cash control
- Follow vendor check-in procedures
- Protect company assets
- Follow robbery deterrence guidelines
- Follow work schedule
- Report sales, cash or operating discrepancies within 24 hours
- Prepare shift reports
- Post and verify hours worked
- Report personnel or policy issues
- Report equipment malfunctions to manager
