Job Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience preferred
  • Minimum of one-year sales experience in a related position, hotel sales experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate and close sales
  • Proficiency in using sales management systems and tools
  • Ability to analyze market trends and customer data
  • Commitment to maintaining high customer service standards
  • Flexibility to attend trade shows and industry events
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities

  • Ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and hotel guests
  • Ability to manage extensive amounts of information
  • Knowledge of sales procedures related to the hotel industry
  • Excellent written communication skills for sales and marketing materials

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts including lead follow up, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, and internet prospecting to maximize revenues to meet or exceed goals
  • Plan, up-sell and coordinate function details with clients including space requirements, meeting times, equipment, menus, and billing
  • Prepare and execute sales and catering contracts, event orders, group resumes to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Create and distribute effective internal and external communication both written and verbal
  • Develop and implement creative sales strategies by analyzing historical, current, and future hotel, market, and account trends
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts
  • Partner with National Sales Manager to increase awareness of Terranea within key accounts and uncover new contacts with meeting potential
  • Maintain accurate, legible records and files consistent with established automated or manual sales systems
  • Participate in training, trade shows, field trips and community, industry and professional organizations to maintain high visibility in support of sales and revenue goals
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintain company image and vision statement
  • Make optimal use of financial resources
  • Participate in ongoing training and encourage personal development of all associates
  • Continuous evaluation and improvement of operations
  • Support development of future company projects
  • Provide an exceptional guest experience
