Job Requirements
- 1+ years' experience in Business Travel
- 2+ years of experience in Group Sales or Corporate Catering Sales
- Hotel experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Computer efficient
- knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Knowledge of TripleSeat is preferred
- Must be able to coach, council and develop employees
- Must be able to motivate and lead by example, believe in a strong team culture, and set the scene for high performance
- Able to stand, walk, and sit up to 8 hours in a single day
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance

Job Duties
- Manage the Corporate Group, Corporate Catering, and Business Travel segments within the San Diego region
- Maintain the existing client base, while acquiring new clients by networking, researching, prospecting/soliciting, and in-person sales calls
- Develop and maintain good relations with the VIP and key contacts within client organizations
- Achieve quarterly targets for sales growth, revenue, etc. as outlined in the Annual Business Plan, Budget, and Goal Workbook
- Develop strategies, tactics, profit targets, and sales plans for the San Diego market
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and collaborators
- Remain innovative to increase business and profits through programming and offers
- Work with the Marketing team and Director of Sales to present initiatives on different mediums like the internet, print and electronic media
- Represent the organization at trade shows and events as needed
- Lead by example. Maintain a professional image, follow the rules and regulations, and do work sincerely and well
- Work with the Director of Sales to set weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for the team
- Follow up on the progress made in achieving the goals and come up with solutions to any problems faced. Remain nimble and adaptable based on economic environment and success/failure of tactics
- Manage business expenses aligned with the budget and prepare expense reports for the Senior Management to review
- Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance
- Demonstrate your professional presentation skills at Industry Trade Shows, Sales calls and Networking functions
- Maintain "top of mind" awareness with key account contacts, sales calls, networking, entertainment, etc.
- Communicate all account information to the appropriate departments via hotel database/systems
- Provide exceptional customer service through relationship development, strategizing account development and creating quarterly plans that fully exhibit commitment and creativity to exceed customer expectations
- Maintain a working knowledge and awareness of the competition in current and changing conditions
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity of Sales records and reports including the sales database, Account files and Sales Forecast
- Actively participate in Revenue Strategy/Forecast meetings with Revenue Manager and other members of the leadership team
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions, Hotel staff meetings and client events as required for specific business situations, or as requested by Director of Sales & Marketing or General Manager
- Conduct site inspections, escort client visits, actively entertain, and personally interact with customers, as appropriate for transient travel development
- Promote the Hotel through regular industry involvement and exposure at local and/or national events
- Maintain positive employee relations in a supportive, team-oriented environment
- Actively support the development, training, mentoring of associates and accept such responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sales or General Manager
- Perform special projects or duties as requested by Director of Sales
- Support Resort Seasonal Programming by volunteering for support roles
