Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or food science preferred
  • 10+ years of sales experience in ingredients, food and beverage industry
  • Proven track record in ingredient sales leadership
  • Experience in direct sales calls at customer locations
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and quality standards
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Self-motivated and results-driven
  • Experience working in high-growth and entrepreneurial environments

Job Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in sales in the ingredients, food and beverage industry
  • Experience in ingredient sales leadership and managing customers and distributors
  • Skilled in direct sales calls at customer headquarters
  • Experience in high-growth entrepreneurial environments with technical product sales
  • Knowledge of customer policies for quality, regulatory, and logistics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Results-oriented, resourceful, self-motivated, and self-reliant team player
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Bachelor's degree in business or food science preferred

Job Duties

  • Achieve sales plan within budget, monitor and analyze sales performance, and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Acquire and retain new customers focusing on North American and international markets
  • Conduct quarterly reviews with corrective actions to address variances
  • Determine annual sales forecasts and projections by customer
  • Forecast sales monthly by SKU and customer
  • Plan and implement sales contracts, business terms, and pricing
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop and execute the annual sales plan
  • Attend industry trade shows and conferences
  • Maintain active knowledge of industry sales data and market growth
  • Understand category, channel, customer, and competitive environment and communicate insights
  • Implement pro-active actions to gain advantage and manage risks
