Job Requirements
- Ability to work on site during scheduled hours
- Proven experience in group and business transient sales
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts
- Familiarity with sales forecasting and data analysis
- Professional demeanor and presentation skills
Job Qualifications
- Previous hotel sales experience with a strong understanding of group and/or business transient markets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to assess client needs and negotiate pricing effectively
- Solid mathematical skills for calculating room blocks, average rates, forecasts, and related sales data
- Strong networking and marketing abilities
- Confidence representing the property in community and industry
- Ability to actively participate in monthly meetings and organizational events
- Willingness to learn and understand assigned market(s) to uncover new business opportunities
Job Duties
- Proactively prospect, solicit, and develop accounts through phone outreach, personal visits, outside sales calls, email, and other communication methods
- Conduct hotel site inspections
- host in-house and off-property client entertainment
- maintain strong, consistent follow-up practices
- Prepare and present proposals and contracts in a timely, accurate, profitable, and professional manner
- Manage all account details through the group sales process, including effective turnover to the Catering/Event Services team
- Participate in required meetings including preconvention, business review, and departmental meetings
- Submit reports, proposals, contracts, and client correspondence within established deadlines
- Perform other duties as assigned
