Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous sales experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Leadership and mentoring experience preferred
  • Proficiency with hotel management or sales software systems

Job Duties

  • Builds the department top line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines set forth by the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Identifies revenue opportunities for the hotels based on event profiles
  • Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals
  • Effectively manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs
  • Identifies opportunities to up-sell products and services throughout the sales process
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers through sales calls, entertainment, and familiarization trips
  • Conducts customer site inspections
  • Excels at proactive selling by targeting key accounts and markets
  • Responds to incoming inquiries within market segment within 4 hours
  • Closes best opportunities based on market conditions and hotel needs
  • Accurately forecasts group sleeping rooms and revenue prior to turnover
  • Creates sales contracts as required
  • Ensures high level of customer satisfaction and builds long term customer relationships
  • Coordinates and communicates with customers regarding event details
  • Greets customers during events and coordinates with Convention Services
  • Handles guest problems and complaints effectively
  • Demonstrates leadership by committing to company principles and mentoring others
  • Treats people fairly with dignity and respect
  • Adheres to standards, policies, and procedures
  • Allocates time and resources effectively
  • Proactively identifies and develops talent within the organization
  • Pursues learning and self-development to enhance professional growth
