Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in sales, preferably in hospitality industry
  • Experience with cold calling, contract negotiation, and client relationship management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient with MS Office software
  • Valid driver's license

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of a proven track record in sales required and previous hospitality sales experience preferred
  • Must have experience in cold call solicitation, contract closing, site inspections/visits with clients, and contract negotiations
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational and leadership qualities
  • Solid understanding of hospitality procedures and best practices
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant software

Job Duties

  • Procures new and repeat business for the hotel by building relationships and staying in contact with Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Travel Agencies, National Sales Offices and Professional Associations
  • Promote local awareness through maintaining relationships with CVB's and tourism authorities
  • Conduct tours of property to meeting planners and other potential customers while informing of all hotel services available
  • Participate at industry events, trade shows and/or partner with local attractions to drive incremental revenue
  • Exceed forecasted room night, convention, and F&B revenue goals
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of guest and market needs
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales & Catering, Group Rooms Coordinator, clients, event and wedding planners and vendors to generate room nights, maximize room revenue and convention and F&B revenues
  • Use all sales avenues including telemarketing and networking to capture additional segments
  • Effectively negotiate group rates including convention space and menu prices within the established/approved guidelines
  • Evaluate events to facilitate guest and client feedback to ensure continuous improvement
  • Review the monthly financial statements for accuracy and sales performance
  • Take personal responsibility for delivering excellent guest experience
  • Detail events and group business as needed and be onsite for event to ensure success
  • Obtain payments and manage BEO's and Banquet Checks as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
