Job Requirements

  • College degree preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One to three years of related experience and/or training
  • Reliable transportation for sales calls and networking opportunities

Job Duties

  • Develops strategy for and initiates potential business account interest
  • Solicits and negotiates contracts for hotel business for specific assigned markets
  • Formulates programs and submits formal sales proposals to prospective customers
  • Participates in responding to RFPs and developing accounts
  • Builds and sells small group packages, coordinating with third party vendors and client needs
  • Leads on-site inspections by customers, entertains customers, performs sales calls to develop leads
  • Meets or exceeds monthly, quarterly, and annual room night and revenue goals
  • Makes sales appointments and cold calls to consistently prospect accounts
  • Handles account details including solicitation, rate negotiation, closing, and event documentation
  • Coordinates participation of various departments in account servicing with accurate and timely communication
  • Assists in implementing special promotions and attends sales-related functions including sales blitzes, networking, and tradeshows
  • Grows new and existing relationships with assigned corporate accounts and group business sources
  • Meets or exceeds expectations for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and closes
  • Possesses knowledge of market trends, competition, and key customers of the hotel
  • Assists VP of Operations, Corporate Director of Revenue Management and Sales, and property leadership in various duties and assignments
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
