Job Requirements
- college degree (bs/ba) preferred or equivalent work experience
- previous direct selling experience
- professionalism must be displayed at all times
- honesty and trustworthiness are essential
- must pass appropriate security clearances
- capable of lifting and carrying 30 pounds, pushing and pulling 50 pounds
- able to sit or stand for long periods
- must be able to drive
- computer skills required including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- ability to follow company policies and safety standards
- committed to company goals
Job Qualifications
- college degree (bs/ba) preferred or equivalent work experience
- previous direct selling experience
- experience selling in a Marriott or Hilton focus service hotel is a plus
- professionalism at all times
- computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- experience with customer relationship management software such as SalesPro, ACT, or Salesforce preferred
- effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties
- book appropriate business from assigned segments to achieve or exceed monthly room revenue budget
- approach the position with a relationship building and proactive selling mindset
- ensure weekly telephone prospecting, qualification, and solicitation calls goals are met or exceeded
- participate in outside sales calls as directed
- utilize business tools to prospect for new business
- remain active in at least three outside organizations such as local convention and visitors bureau, chamber of commerce, or sports commission
- perform pre-call planning and post-call follow-up for client sales calls
- work with general manager and director of sales to evaluate potential business opportunities
- build strong business relationships with clients
- seek opportunities to grow revenue by cross-selling other hotels
- maintain awareness of competitive sales practices and take proactive steps to neutralize them
- become an expert in selling against the competitive set
- contribute to a positive team environment by celebrating coworkers’ successes
- adhere to all sales administrative processes from corporate office
- submit reports, internal information requests, and special projects on time
- continuously improve business and industry knowledge through training and education
