Job Requirements

  • College degree (BS or BA) preferred or equivalent work experience
  • previous direct selling experience
  • experience selling in a Marriott or Hilton focus service hotel is a plus
  • display professionalism at all times
  • honest and trustworthy character traits
  • pass appropriate security clearances
  • proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • experience with customer relationship management software preferred
  • able to lift and carry 30 pounds, push and pull 50 pounds
  • able to sit or stand for long periods
  • able to drive

Job Duties

  • Books appropriate business from assigned segments to achieve or exceed monthly room revenue budget
  • approaches the position with a relationship building and proactive selling mindset
  • ensures weekly telephone prospecting, qualification, and solicitation calls goals are met
  • participates in outside sales calls as directed
  • utilizes business tools to prospect for new business
  • remains active in at least three outside organizations such as Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, or university affiliations
  • performs pre-call planning and post-call follow-up for client sales calls
  • works with GM and DOS to evaluate potential business opportunities
  • builds strong business relationships with client base
  • looks for cross-selling opportunities within LBA Hospitality
  • monitors competitors' sales practices and takes proactive steps to neutralize them
  • becomes an expert in competitive set sales strategies
  • celebrates coworkers' successes
  • adheres to sales administrative processes from corporate office
  • submits all reports and special projects on time
  • continuously improves business and industry skills through training and education
