Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 to 5 years progressive experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • computer knowledge and skills required
  • ability to work flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • light physical work involving up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in a courteous and service oriented manner
  • ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • ability to multitask and prioritize
  • maintain regular attendance according to scheduling needs
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing proper uniform and nametag
  • comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
  • proactive in identifying and solving problems
  • capable of applying complex information from various sources
  • willing to attend all required meetings and trainings
  • able to show initiative and maintain confidentiality
  • ability to perform other duties as requested by management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • college coursework in related field helpful
  • computer knowledge and skills required
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ability to anticipate guest or operational needs
  • effective problem-solving skills
  • willingness to cross-train in other hotel related areas

Job Duties

  • Answer telephone and email messages
  • respond accordingly
  • open and distribute mail
  • maintain and stay abreast of the latest computer programs and innovations as applicable
  • file all pertinent correspondence in a timely manner
  • type all correspondence pertaining to department
  • maintain adequate inventory of office supplies
  • responsible for the smooth operation of the office
  • type and distribute meeting minutes
  • maintain trace file as needed
  • prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) as per client needs (Catering only)
  • assist with daily operations of the Business Center as needed
  • assist in copying, faxing, mailing
  • greet guests, clients, employees when necessary
  • attend meetings and training as required by management
