Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
- Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work an intermittent schedule up to 19 hours per week
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must complete federal background check and pre-employment screening
- U.S. citizenship or valid authorization to work in the U.S.
- Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered with Selective Service unless exempt
- Must participate in direct deposit for payroll
- Ability to follow safety and loss prevention policies
- No conflicts of interest relating to employment within chain of command of relatives
Job Qualifications
- Potential to stock merchandise and operate cash register as demonstrated by high school coursework, a GED or high school diploma
- Ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations including counting, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
- Preferred previous retail merchandising or cashier experience
- Ability to lift 10 pounds routinely and occasionally lift 25 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Job Duties
- Welcome customers and help with the selection of merchandise
- React quickly to customer concerns with importance
- Sell merchandise and provide outstanding customer service, including demonstration or explanation of product features
- Take periodic stock counts and assist with inventories
- Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in a neat and presentable condition
- Operate cash register handling cash, checks, credit and debit cards accurately
- Balance cash register at end of shift and turn in sales records
- Perform price changes for markdowns, markups, and promotions
- Follow all policies regarding loss prevention and be proactive about shrink control
- Adhere to established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements
- Work weekends as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
