Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years
- Availability for a flexible work schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts as needed
- Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting merchandise up to 25 pounds, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
- Capability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone
- Proficiency or willingness to learn technology related to cash registers and handheld devices
- Strong interpersonal skills for customer service
- Ability to follow directions and learn store procedures through training
Job Qualifications
- At least 16 years old
- Available to work a flexible schedule
- Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers and mobile devices
- Good communication skills with the ability to engage customers
- Able to handle customer interactions courteously and professionally
- Use basic information gathering skills to solve problems
- Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training
Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers promptly
- Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge and offering recommendations
- Promote store events and promotions
- Resolve customer concerns and offer alternative solutions
- Communicate needs to management including restocking and customer feedback
- Support team and company goals through collaboration
- Frequently operate cash register
- Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise up to heights of 5-10 feet
- Frequently ascend and descend ladders for stocking
- Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop while on the sales floor and in the stock room
- Communicate and exchange information accurately with customers, managers, and coworkers
- Frequently move around the sales floor and stock room assisting customers and managing merchandise
- Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and occasional travel
- Identify and follow email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts and store procedures
- Remain in a stationary upright position for 80 percent of the time
