Job Duties
- Greets and engages customers in conversation for purposes of providing sales related assistance
- Assists in the selection of merchandise and suggests additional items to complement the customer s selections
- Offers customers the opportunity to purchase extended product warranties and explains coverage benefits and price
- Interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner including adhering to dress code and supporting sales team members
- Becomes knowledgeable regarding merchandise selected including proper set-up use care characteristics price points and warranty coverage
- Ensures assigned areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged
- Completes sales transactions efficiently and thanks customers for their patronage
- Performs cash register transactions accurately including cash, charge, check, gift certificates, and layaway
- Advises customers of upcoming sales events and services such as gift wrapping, engraving, delivery and gift certificates
- Becomes knowledgeable in store policies including returns, price matching, and check cashing
- Handles customer returns and problems tactfully and efficiently
- Maintains high level of awareness to deter theft
- Unpacks, stages and moves merchandise as assigned
- Assists in creating store displays and performing periodic inventories
- Completes paperwork associated with inventory, price adjustments, and returns
- Participates in commission and gainsharing sales incentive programs
- Lifts up to 25 lbs as required
- Opens and closes the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar
- Ensures all equipment is turned on and off as needed
- Preheats and displays products in heated display merchandiser
- Replenishes goods and condiments on the beverage bar
- Time dates remaining products in the refrigerator
- Cleans equipment and maintains food integrity
- Monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures multiple times daily
- Attends food safety training and refresher sessions
- Performs other related duties as assigned
